There’s something incredibly special about designing a fabric collection that captures emotion. With Love Letters, I set out to create a collection that feels like a warm hug—a love note in fabric form. Inspired by handwritten letters, vintage floral prints, and the soft hues of nostalgia, this collection is filled with delicate details and timeless charm. I’ll be showcasing the projects I’ve created with the collection, but don’t miss out on exploring the full Lookbook for even more creative ideas—check it out HERE.
Each print tells a story: of days spent penning notes to loved ones, of cherished keepsakes tucked away in drawers, of slow, meaningful moments. I wanted these fabrics to feel romantic yet approachable—perfect for cozy quilts, thoughtful gifts, and garments that make you feel a little extra lovely every time you wear them.
From dreamy florals to delicate script-inspired motifs, each print was created with heartfelt intention. Whether you’re piecing together a cozy quilt, sewing a flowy blouse, or adding sweet touches to your home décor, these fabrics bring warmth and sentiment to every project.
One print in particular is deeply personal—Heartfelt Notes. This design is created directly from letters my Nana and Papa wrote to each other during his deployment in World War II. Preserving their words in this way was such an emotional process—reading through the pages they exchanged, full of love, hope, and longing—and I knew this had to become part of the collection. It’s more than just text on fabric; it’s a legacy of devotion, stitched into something that can be passed on. One of the most personal projects I created with Love Letters was a set of pillows for my mom and her siblings using the Heartfelt Notes. I created the pillows so they could always have a piece of their love story—something tangible to hold onto, stitched with history, heart, and home.
One of my favorite things about this collection is how versatile it is. The prints work beautifully for heirloom projects, special gifts, and even everyday makes that deserve a little extra love. I’ve already seen so many incredible creations from the community—from baby quilts that will be cherished for generations to romantic dresses that twirl just right—and I’m constantly inspired by your creativity.
I’m so excited to share a sweet new pattern I created just for the lookbook with you—Dear Granny! Inspired by the timeless charm of the classic granny square quilt, this design is my love letter to cozy, scrappy quilts that feel like home. This pattern is completely FREE for my newsletter subscribers!
One of the first projects I created with the collection is a quilt using the beautiful Always Forever pattern by Liza Taylor Handmade. She is such a talented quilt designer, and it truly felt like this pattern was a match made in heaven for Love Letters - I couldn’t have imagined a better pairing!
The last project I made was just too perfect to pass up. I stumbled across the most adorable FPP pattern on Etsy, and I could not believe how serendipitous it was—the pattern is literally called Love Letters! It was like it was meant to be. This sweet little design features a tiny envelope with hearts exploding from it, and it was the perfect finishing touch to my series of projects with this collection. I love how it highlights the theme of the fabrics in such a charming and playful way.
And of course, I couldn’t let this collection launch without including someone very special. My friend is the inspiration behind the double border print in Love Letters, so I knew immediately that her daughter had to model one of the dresses she designed for Sunflower Seams. The pattern we chose? Seraphina—a gorgeous button-down dress complete with a collar, sash, and (of course!) pockets. The way the border print flowed into the hemline made it such a showstopper. It was a full-circle moment—designing a fabric inspired by friendship, then seeing that same connection brought to life in stitches and smiles.
Whether you’re sewing a baby quilt, a dainty dress, or a new pillow for your reading nook, Love Letters invites you to stitch with sentiment.
