Quilt Donation Drive 2025
Share
A quilt is more than just fabric and stitches—it’s a hug, a piece of comfort that extends far beyond warmth. There’s something truly special about a handmade quilt; it carries love, care, and a sense of security in every stitch. That’s why I’m so excited to be part of the Quilt Donation Drive Blog Hop for the second year in a row!
This incredible event brings together an inspiring lineup of makers, each contributing quilts to a cause that truly makes a difference. Yesterday, Sandy Saengsuk of Thai Charm LLC shared her donation, and tomorrow, WonderFil Specialty Threads will be showcasing theirs. It’s amazing to see the quilting community unite for such a heartfelt mission.
The donated quilts go to Comfort Cases—backpacks filled with essential and comfort items for children entering foster care. Since space is limited, specific quilt sizes are requested. For older kids, the preferred size is around 50” x 50”, while baby quilts should be approximately 30” x 40”. Slight variations are fine, but staying close to these dimensions ensures they fit perfectly inside the backpacks.

For my part in the Quilt Donation Drive Blog Hop, I want to inspire you to give back by making and donating a quilt. To make the process simpler, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite fast and easy quilt patterns from Becca Plymale Creative—perfect designs that kids are sure to adore!
DAISIE CHAINS
This beginner-friendly pattern is built with Half Square Triangles (HST) to capture the delicate charm of daisies threaded together by their stems.
WOODWORK
this pattern combines strip piecing with easy-to-follow Y-seam instructions, making it an accessible and satisfying sew.
TURQUOISE TRAILS
This pattern invites you to craft a piece that’s as timeless and memorable as the landscapes that inspired it. It looks more complicated than it really is which makes it such a fun pattern to make.
SANDIA SUNSET
This modern design includes foundation paper piecing templates and clear step by step instructions.
If this inspires you to participate, help spread the word. Share your quilting journey on social media, tell your friends, and invite others to join in. You could even host a local quilting event, collaborate with a quilt shop to organize a donation drive, or set up a workshop. Every quilt donated is a tangible reminder to a child that they are loved and valued—something they can hold onto in times of uncertainty, wrapping themselves in warmth and care.
