Paradise Breeze Quilt Along - Week Two

Paradise Breeze Quilt Along - Week Two

Welcome back to the Paradise Breeze Quilt Along! We made it through Week 1, and hopefully your fabrics are cut, labeled, and ready to go because this week we finally get to start sewing!

If you’re just joining us, you’re not too late, take a look at the Paradise Breeze Quilt Along post, then come back here when you’re ready. This quilt along is meant to be relaxed and fun, so jump in wherever you are and work at your own pace. You can follow our weekly schedule or sew ahead if you just can’t help yourself!

This week, Patty and I are tackling the Nine Patch blocks.

WEEK 2 — NINE PATCH

The Nine Patch is one of those classic quilt blocks that never goes out of style, and it plays such a fun role in the Paradise Breeze design.

This week, you’ll take all those beautifully organized pieces from Week 1 and start turning them into blocks!

Follow the Nine Patch instructions in your Paradise Breeze pattern to complete all of the blocks needed for your quilt.

A Few Tips for Your Nine Patch Blocks

Use a consistent 1/4” seam allowance.
Accuracy matters with Nine Patch blocks. A consistent seam allowance will help your points and seams line up when we begin assembling the quilt top next week.

Press as you go.
Pressing each unit before moving on to the next step helps keep everything nice and flat and makes matching seams much easier.

And remember—finished is always better than perfect. Enjoy the process and have fun watching your Paradise Breeze quilt begin to take shape!

Once your Nine Patch blocks are complete, set them aside somewhere safe. Next week, we’re putting everything together!

WEEK 2 GIVEAWAY!

Of course, we couldn’t have Week 2 without another fantastic giveaway!

A huge thank you to Art Gallery Fabrics for sponsoring this week’s prize.

One lucky winner will receive fat quarter bundles of both Gulf Breeze and Paradise Garden!

That means you’ll get a bundle from my Gulf Breeze collection AND Patty’s Paradise Garden collection—the two collections that inspired our Paradise Breeze quilt.

Nine patch is one of my favorite blocks. This is a great pattern to practice and perfect.

Denise Burnett

I love both collections but am partial to blue so, if I had to, I would choose Gulf Breeze as my favorite!

Grace

I have my fabric pulled but have to finish a baby quilt for my Godson’s first (a boy) this week before I start this QAL.

Grace

I love both collections and 9 patches are so fun to make. I’m just jumping in this week!

Kathy

Yes I’m following all three!
