We made it!
Welcome to Week 4—the final week of the Paradise Breeze Quilt Along!
Over the past few weeks, we’ve selected and cut our fabrics, sewn our Nine Patch blocks, assembled our quilt tops, and now there’s only one thing left to do:
Finish those quilts!
I hope you’ve enjoyed sewing Paradise Breeze alongside Patty and me. One of my favorite parts of a quilt along is seeing the same pattern take on completely different personalities depending on the fabrics each of you chooses.
And remember, if your quilt isn’t quite finished yet, that is completely okay! The goal of this quilt along was to enjoy sewing together and help you make progress. Keep going at your own pace.

WEEK 4 — FINISH YOUR QUILT
This week, it’s time to turn that finished quilt top into a quilt you can actually use and enjoy!
That means preparing your backing, making your quilt sandwich, quilting, and finally adding the binding.
Whether you quilt it yourself on your domestic machine, use a longarm, or send your quilt to your favorite longarm quilter, choose the finishing method that works best for you.
A Few Tips for Finishing Your Quilt
Give your quilt top one last press.
Before layering your quilt, make sure the top and backing are nicely pressed and free of loose threads.
Choose batting based on how you’ll use your quilt.
Think about how you want your finished Paradise Breeze quilt to feel. Batting can change the weight, drape, warmth, and even the look of your finished quilt.
Don’t overthink your quilting.
Your quilting doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful. Sometimes simple straight-line quilting is exactly what a quilt needs.
Finish with a great binding.
Binding is the final frame around your quilt. You can keep it subtle by using a fabric already found in your quilt or have a little fun and choose something that adds contrast.
Once that final stitch goes into your binding, take a minute to enjoy what you made!
